Scribes at the Wren’s Nest

The Wren’s Nest offers educational programs that align with our mission to preserve storytelling traditions, cultivate the next generation of readers and writers, and celebrate self-expression.
Scribes Youth Writing Program
The Wren’s Nest created the Scribes youth writing program in 2010 to elevate the voices of young writers in our community. In its first decade, the Scribes program produced 10 printed volumes of writing by local middle schoolers who were mentored by writing and communications professionals.
Today, our museum regularly offers creative writing workshops that are open to students across Georgia, all led by exceptional teaching artists. These workshops invite students in grades 5-8 to explore a variety of genres, from fiction to journalism to comic book writing.
