Who we are…

The Wren’s Nest, the historic home of author and journalist Joel Chandler Harris, is a cultural center, Victorian-era house museum, and National Historic Landmark in Atlanta's West End neighborhood.

As a 501c3 nonprofit, our mission is to preserve our significant historic site, champion storytelling, and cultivate readers and writers through educational and cultural programming, including guided tours, storytelling performances, free book programs, youth writing workshops, and special events.

The Wren’s Nest is supported by its annual donors and by the Gable Foundation, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, Fulton County Board of Commissioners through the Fulton County Department of Arts and Culture, and Georgia Council for the Arts through appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly and from its partner agency, the National Endowment for the Arts.
